The Zoo welcomes more than a million visitors each year and is open year-round. San Antonio Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the Zoological Association of America, and Humane Certified by American Humane. In recent years San Antonio Zoo has been named "Best in Texas" five times by three different organizations and Top 10 in the United States four times, twice ranking #2 overall, including in the 2025 Newsweek Readers' Choice Awards.

    Immerse yourself in a 2-acre lush environment at the new Congo Falls, home to seven western lowland gorillas in three distinct habitats (Lowland Basin, Indoor Rainforest, and Gorilla Gorge).

    Climb into spring with "Pollinators," the world premiere of 12 larger-than-life sculptures designed for hands-on exploration. On view through April 26 in the Go Wild realm, these climbable pollinators reveal facts about how their real-life counterparts help plants reproduce, support thriving ecosystems, and make many foods possible.

Dining: Beastro Restaurant; Riverview Restaurant (Outside food or drink is not allowed into the zoo. Exceptions are: bottled water, baby food, and formula. Ice chests, coolers, and ice bags are not allowed on zoo grounds.)

Accessibility

The Zoo offer rentals for single strollers, double strollers, wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs on a first-come, first-served basis. You are also welcome to bring your own stroller.

Parking/Transportation

Public parking areas are located in and around Brackenridge Park and the zoo parking garage located between the zoo and Will Smith Zoo School. Parking in the garage is free during zoo business hours.

We only had time to use three of the four passes. It would have been a good deal if we could have squeezed in one more activity.
